  1. Simulation studies on the electron transport layer based perovskite solar cell to achieve high photovoltaic efficiency

Rui Huang, Jiyu Tang · 2021 · Journal of Physics: Conference Series · 9 citations

Perovskite solar cells have attracted the attention of the researchers in the last couple of years as a potential photovoltaic device. However, the use of expensive hole transport materials (HTM) in these devices often restricts their commercial adaptability. Thus exploring cost-effective, efficient HTL and ETL materials remain an important challenge to the researchers. In this work, simulation studies are carried out considering cupric oxide (CuO), a relatively inexpensive material as hole transport materials for planar heterojunction perovskite solar cells. The photo-voltaic performance of CuO based hole transport layer (HTL) has been estimated in combination with several electron transpor

  2. RETRACTED: Enhanced photovoltaic efficiency of perovskite solar cell through reduced graphene oxide passivation

Simeon Amole, David Bolarinwa Agunbiade, Olusola Akinrinola, et al. · 2026 · AIP Advances · 2 citations

Photovoltaic response is substantially very crucial in perovskite solar cells, and it could be enhanced via grain boundary passivation. Here, reduced graphene oxide synthesized using the improved Hummers’ method was incorporated into the organic–inorganic methylammonium lead triiodide (CH3NH3PbI3) perovskite film and the bilayer electron transporting layer of CH3NH3PbI3-based PSCs. Characterization studies were carried out to examine structural, morphological, and optical properties by means of Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy, and ultraviolet–visible spectrophotometry. The characteri

  3. Photovoltaic Effect and Efficiency of Perovskite Solar Cells

Xinnan Wang · 2024 · Highlights in Science, Engineering and Technology · 1 citations

Recently, the solar cells have become a hotspot as the solar power is becoming more and more popular. There are many types of solar cells. Perovskite solar cells (PSCs), as a type of solar cell, use perovskite type semiconductors as the light absorbing materials. PSCs exhibit high efficiency and stability. The performance of solar cells could be evaluated by the photovoltaic effect. Therefore, the research on the photovoltaic effect of perovskite solar cells is of importance. This essay gives a brief introduction to the composition and structure of perovskite solar cells. Then, it introduces the photovoltaic effect of perovskite solar cells in two parts which include working principle and ef

  4. Engineering Structure and Stability of Next-Generation Perovskite Materials for Optimization of Photovoltaic Solar Cell Efficiency

Anugrah, Rismen Sinambela · 2026 · Science Get Journal

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are a promising next-generation photovoltaic technology due to their high power conversion efficiency (PCE) and facile fabrication. However, structural instability, environmental sensitivity, and operational degradation limit their practical applications. This study investigates the effects of compositional and interfacial engineering on PSC performance and stability. Three perovskite types mixed-cation, interface-modified, and anti-perovskite were fabricated and characterized in terms of crystallinity, morphology, optical absorption, and electrical performance. Mixed-cation perovskites exhibited superior crystallinity, homogeneous morphology, broad optical abso

  5. Impact of Temperature and Solar Radiation on Photovoltaic Cell Efficiency: A Simulation Study Using MATLAB

المعتزبالله عبودة, Osama Ali Badi, سعد سالم, et al. · 2025 · The International Journal of Engineering & Information Technology (IJEIT)

This research targets studying the impact of temperature and solar radiation on two types of photovoltaic cells: monocrystalline and polycrystalline. This paper examines, through the use of MATLAB simulation, the variation in these environmental factors for significant parameters such as efficiency, power output, and voltage characteristics in order to deduce the superior performance type under high-temperature conditions. This was simulated for temperature and solar radiation variations from 25°C to 65°C, in 10°C steps, and 200 W/m² to 1000 W/m², in 200 W/m² steps, respectively. For both types of cells, constants, variables, and specifications were programmed into MATLAB, while iterative lo

  6. Nanostructured Surface Modifications and Solar Energy Conversion Efficiency in Perovskite Photovoltaic Cells in Japan

Nanami Fujimoto · 2026 · Journal of Physical Sciences

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the nanostructured surface modifications and solar energy conversion efficiency in perovskite photovoltaic cells in Japan. Methodology: The study adopted a desktop research methodology. Desk research refers to secondary data or that which can be collected without fieldwork. Desk research is basically involved in collecting data from existing resources hence it is often considered a low-cost technique as compared to field research, as the main cost is involved in executive’s time, telephone charges and directories. Thus, the study relied on already published studies, reports and statistics. This secondary data was easily accessed through the o
